Nathan Wilson from ICv2 had a similar opinion, praising the series as a good introduction into works by Ito. Yuuma and Chizumi are ALL kinds of wrong (just the right level of gory horror I was looking for), but this did get repetitive towards the end.

The Azawa Parents: The Azawara parents are present mainly in chapter three but are also mentioned and shown as decapitated heads in other chapters. Starting this chapter, Nao is introduced as she waits at a restaurant to meet her childhood friend who she hasn't seen in two years, Maiko, and Maiko's boyfriend, Yuuma.Apologizes a Lot: Yuuma spends a great deal of time loudly and profusely apologizing to people, which causes his classmates to think he's strange and bully him, and just confuses everyone else. Dissolving Classroom is the sixth volume to translate Japanese mangaka Junji Ito’s probing visions of the horrifying and the weird into English. Afterwards, it is narrated that the broadcast was spread around on social media, but what happened to the watchers and the Azawa siblings is up to the reader's imagination.

Started off good and I was interested in knowing what was happening BUT it just got so repetitive that it made it boring. At San Diego Comic-Con 2018, a "Best and Worst Manga" panel included the series in their "Worst Manga for Anyone, Any Age" picks of the year. Drawn in a Baphomet-esque style, the Devil is repeatedly brought up and is the main source of evil and horror in the manga. The Speechless: While Keiko was able to escape the fate of her classmates, her brain is still partially melted and thus she loses the ability to talk. Although this isn't his best work, some of the images was both horrible and beautiful ( beautiful in a way we all know). If just a couple of these stories showed up in a more varied collection of Ito stories, they would have been more interesting. Much like the Tomie collection, there are variations on the theme, but where Tomie took years to grow and develop, these feel much more "all at once" (though I assume there is some gap between them). At this moment, Ogawara and the other neighbor start melting until only their heads and bones are left. Later on, in the fourth chapter, the bottle of ooze labeled with her name talks to the other bottles and knocks herself over to help Tomohito escape.
