Warner Brothers have once again knocked it out of the park as far as the packaging and special features are concerned (both digital and physical), so please pour yourself a drink and watch my unboxing video below to see what is included, with all of these “Film Vault” releases being to such a high standard. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. Although Geoffrey Unsworth's stylized cinematography favors a more subdued, earth-tone palette, this Dolby Vision presentation considerably improves on the colors, compared to its HD SDR counterpart, particularly the slightly wider assortment of browns, yellows, and tans. Colours were exaggerated and completely off, and overall the image had a false, overly bright appearance.

Clarke) fi rst visits our prehistoric ape-ancestry past, then leaps millennia (via one of the most mind-blowing jump cuts ever) into colonized space and ultimately whisks astronaut Bowman (Keir Dullea) into uncharted space, perhaps even into immortality. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then 2001: A Space Odyssey feels like the entire history of cinema collected into one jaw-dropping 148-minute visual masterpiece. I had no adult willing to take me to see the movie, but all the same there was a huge flurry of media interest, with lots of newspaper and magazine articles, and making-of documentaries. For more about 2001: A Space Odyssey 4K and the 2001: A Space Odyssey 4K Blu-ray release, see 2001: A Space Odyssey 4K Blu-ray Review published by Jeffrey Kauffman on October 30, 2018 where this Blu-ray release scored 5. Later, a primate throws a bone into the sky and it transforms into the greatest fast-forward shot captured on celluloid of a spaceship. This lets you appreciate better the detail in the 4K picture, and makes it easier to become fully lost in Kubrick’s brilliantly realized world. DLP powers next-generation 3D gaming devices, high tech heads-up telematics and of course the most impactful projectors on the planet. I liked watching the multitude of filmic and narrative devices that I have since seen in later films, many of which are far less memorable than this one.
